From Chapter 14, review the "Nature of Sampling" section and Exhibit 14-1 showing the sample design procedures and Exhibit 14-2 listing the common sample designs. Consider the following statement: "Key to the difference between nonprobability and probability samples is the term random. In the dictionary, random is defined as "without pattern" or as "haphazard." In sampling, random means something else entirely."
Provide your examples for one random sample design and one non-random sample design and a situation where each design may be applied.
Provide an example of a rating scale and an example of a ranking scale you currently utilize or can utilize in your business.
