Read Chapters 1 and 2 in your textbook and watch The American Industrial Revolution.
	Reflect: Consider how the rise of big business and industrial capitalism affected different groups of Americans and how those groups responded to these developments. Reflect on the socioeconomic changes that occurred in the United States in the last half of the 1800s.
	Write: Based on your textbook and the assigned video, answer the following questions: What were the most revolutionary social and economic developments of the last quarter of the nineteenth century? What role did government play in these developments? How did your chosen group respond to those changes, and how effective were their responses? Your initial post should be at least 250 words in length. Be sure to mention your chosen group in the subject line of your post. Provide specific examples to support your points. Your references and citations must be formatted according to APA style as outlined by the Ashford Writing Center.
