What are some characteristics generally associated with males in our society? What traits are associated with females? How might these affect our expectations about the ways that men and women should behave? Are these images still influential? Do you think men are dominant in major social institutions such as politics, religion, education, and the economy? Compare and contrast the stressors that may affect males and females if they behave in ways that support traditional general roles to the possible stressors they could suffer if they assume nontraditional roles.
