Role to assume: Global HR practitioner

 

Organization: research center

 

Number of employees: 400 from 12 different countries to include (U.S., Panama, Western Europe and Australia)

 

Develop and implement a compensation, benefits, and perquisities program that is appropriately funded, cost and tax effective, complies with international laws and regulations.

 

Issues to consider when developing this program"

  • Benefits - health insurance, payments for rent or purchase of homes or apartments, cost of private schooling for children
  • federal guidelines

Manage and evaluate global assignment-related payments, payroll, and related activities.

  • Who shoud run the payroll for these employees? Should it be the local contractor used for host nation employees of the research center?
  • What benefits should be paid?
  • What kind of payroll processing is expected?
  • What kinds of obstacles could be faced while administering the full spectrum of HR services for organizations which are outside the U.S.?
