This Discussion Board will concern two types of student motivation: extrinsic and intrinsic motivation.
Extrinsic motivation is motivation that engages a student in an activity as a means to an end. Individuals who are extrinsically motivated work on tasks because they believe that participation will result in outcomes such as rewards, praise, or other tangible results.
Intrinsic motivation refers to motivation in engaging in an activity for its own sake. People who enjoy working on tasks do so because they have intrinsic motivation.
Part I
Argue which method of motivation is better. How do they support caring and professional leadership skills? Put a question regarding Part 1 assignment.
Part II
Discuss how you would use both motivation methods in a classroom. How does having a caring and professional leadership approach align with extrinsic and intrinsic motivation within a learning environment? Provide personal examples. What question would you ask about part 2 assignment.
