Assignment Description

Weekly tasks or assignments (Individual or Group Projects) will be due by Monday, and late submissions will be assigned a late penalty in accordance with the late penalty policy found in the syllabus. NOTE: All submission posting times are based on midnight Central Time.

Choose a local, county, or state agency, and write a paper addressing the following topics:

·  How are the criminal data at the selected department collected or captured and reported?

·  Discuss the use of Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) and Incident-Based Reporting Systems (IBRS) as it relates to your selected agency.

·  Choose 2 large municipal police departments such as Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, or 2 state policedepartments, and create a crime clock for the 2 selected agencies.

o    Discuss the possible causes and reasons for the differences.
