CRITIQUE AND ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY ON CHILD CARE IN BLACK AND WHITE:WORKING PARENTS AND THE HISTORY OF ORPHANAGES

This homework assignment is to write a 4 page critique on the monograph of Child Care in Black and White: Working Parents and the History of Orphanages from Jessie B. Ramey, Urbana, IL: University of Illinois Press 2012.  My instructions was to read and write down some of the author main points but also my reactions to the author's points.  No more than half of the paper should consist of reporting what the article says; at least half should be my analysis. Some questions to answer throughout the paper are:

What is its context?  (Context includes the author’s background and assumptions, its intended audience.)

What are the main points?

What arguments and evidence does the author use to back up the main points?

Are the arguments and evidence persuasive?

What are the article’s strengths and weaknesses?

After writing the critique, I am required to write a annotated bibliography of 12 sources of this topic.  It has to have at least 3 books and 3 journal articles and in Chicago Style Manual Format.  Thanks.
