Brett McCarrier

Chuck Yeager

Introduce Mr. Yeager for Lifetime Achievement into the aeronautical hall of fame.

Chuck Yeager broke one specific barrier that was pivotal in early aviation, the Sound Barrier!

Anyone who knows anything about aviation and especially anyone who has spent some time in the United States Air Force has at least heard the name of Mr. Chuck Yeager. If you know his name than you should know his story. Tonight I would like to introduce Mr. Chuck Yeager to accept this nomination into the aviation hall of fame.

Before welcoming him I would like to share some important information about his life.

A. A combat pilot in WWII, Yeager was shot down over France in 1943.

B. After the war he was put in charge of experimental aircraft pilot training.

-Became first person to break the sound barrier in the Bel X-1 named Glamorous Glennis (Named after his wife)

                -Trained the first U.S. Astronauts.

C. Flew Combat missions over Vietnam in the 1960s.

D. Enriching his celebrity status became even more famous for a Tom Wolfe book/film called The Right Stuff .

There is no amount of time that can even begin to explain Chuck Yeager’s accomplishments throughout his storied career. There is no other American hero that we could all be luckier to introduce tonight than one of the greatest aviators to have ever lived. Ladies and Gentleman, please give a warm welcome to our LifeTime aeronautical achievement winner Mr. Chuck Yeager.
