Need short paragraph for discussion board post. 

Thank You for Smoking: In the "ice cream" argument - lesson to Joey (min. 39), Nick claims "If you're wrong, then I'm right." We know that this is a fallacious conclusion (= a false alternative: they could both be wrong!) 

To what extent, and in what ways, does this mode of thinking in fact determine (infect?) the positions we finds ourselves taking? (In a political framework, do we find ourselves e.g. moving to the Left because we are disgusted by the Right, or vice versa?) Can this lead us to suspend, pervert, distort or misuse our critical faculties?
