Criminal Justice & Public Policy

In Chapter 2, we read about Herbert Packer's theory on the two competing value sets at work within the criminal justice system: due process and crime control.  Briefly discuss the basic elements of these two models.  Let’s not forget that the two competing systems co-exist with each other within the criminal justice system.  Share your opinion as to which model you feel is more appropriate for our criminal justice system, and how both models work together to make up the criminal justice system we have today.
