Creating a Professional Presentation
Think about good and not-so-good professional presentations that you have attended in the past. Give an example of what made an effective presentation? Give another example of what detracted from their ability to deliver a message to the audience?
This week, we focus on the principles of professional communication. Are you comfortable with your professional communication skills? An essential skill of the master’s-prepared nurse is to disseminate scientific knowledge (American Association of Colleges of Nursing [AACN], 2011). One can disseminate information with various modes of communication. Regardless of the method chosen, the professional nurse must be clear and concise. The nurse must be a proficient communicator in order to provide effective patient care and function as a member of the multidisciplinary team.The Course Outcome guiding this discussion thread is:
