SELECTING A PROJECT

1.      Select a project area / domain that you are familiar with.  It can be a business, school, organization, etc. 

2.      The area should be somewhat bounded – but, broad enough that you can define at least 10 tables and relationships between those tables.

3.      Your topic does not – necessarily – have to be unique (i.e., more than one student may select the same subject area).

WHAT YOU WILL BE ASKED TO DO

4.      You will need to develop business rules for you project that define the boundaries of the project and any assumptions that are guiding the design.

5.      You will have to develop an ERD that shows your overall database design. 

6.      You will need to implement this design in MS Access or MySQL.  

7.      You will need to define a minimum of:

a.      5 queries on the data.

b.      3 forms for entering and retrieving data.

c.      3 reports that can be generated from the data.
