Cost Variance Analysis Research Paper

Four to five page paper

Students will research the library or internet for two or more scholarly articles from a business journal or business magazine, about how cost variance analysis can be used by management for planning and control. The paper can focus on chapter 7 direct cost variances or chapter 8 overhead variances.

Please provide an introduction that tells the reader what the paper is about and previews major points.

·         Explain how variance analysis is used by management for planning and control.

·         Include variance formulas and sample calculations for each formula to show what useful information is conveyed by the calculations.

·         Discuss the investigation of favorable and unfavorable variances.

·         Discuss three or more important benefits obtained by performing variance analysis.

·         Integrate relevant course material from chapter 7and/or 8 in the paper.

·         State at least three things you learned from this article that could help you to implement or comply with variance analysis in a work setting.

·         Conclude with a summary of the major points in the paper.

·         Include an APA format references page.

Your paper should include three main sections: Introduction, Analysis, and Conclusion. All papers are to use APA standards and have at least three citations.
