Part 2

You are a new employee for a general contractor and are assisting with a bid for a large and expensive project. The contractor has promised everyone a bonus if the company is awarded the project. Your assignment is to record the price quotations from subcontractors and report them to the contractor.

As you take the second round of quotes to the contractor, you realize that the contractor is using the first round of quotes and shopping the bids.

Answer the following questions:

• You know this practice is not illegal. However, is it unethical? Why or why not?
• What are the important facts and concepts of the situation?
• What steps would you take in such a situation and why?
