Hypothesis statements

 (H0): There is no correlation between the sex of the customer (DV) and model of vehicle rented (IV).

(H1): There is a correlation between the sex of the customer (DV) and vehicle rented (IV).

• IV:  Sex (1=Male, 2=Female) - qualitative, nominal variable

H_O: There is no relationship between sex (IV) and Telecommuter Status (DV).

H_A: There is a relationship between sex (IV) and Telecommuter Status (DV).

Why use Chi-square analysis?

• The DV is qualitative, so only frequency/proportions can be obtained; we cannot obtain a mean or standard deviation.
• There is one qualitative IV.
