Competition and the firm: Industrial organisation (structural competition, static, strategy, policy)

Choose a current 'situation' in the UK e.g. food retailing industry (please don't the use food retailing industry), the market for smartphones etc. 

A) Describe and evaluate the key aspects of the competitive environment in which firms operate in that 'situation' and bring it up to date.

B) Define static and dynamic and describe how competitive is this sector by *static, and by dynamic* criteria? Do the conclusions resulting from applying these different criteria diverge? If so, why?

C) How does the state of competition compare with the situation four or five decades ago in this sector (if it is an old one, or since its inception, if it has emerged relatively recently)?
