As you begin your more in-depth study of qualitative research methods, it is important to recall the characteristics of qualitative research that differentiate it from quantitative research. In this Discussion activity, you will compare and contrast qualitative and quantitative approaches, and think about situations where each type of research could be used most effectively.

  Think about situations when qualitative research might be a more appropriate approach than quantitative and vice versa.
