Both Veronica Chambers in “The Secret Latina” (p. 255-257) and Brent Staples in “Just Walk On By …” (p. 314-316) write about their racial/cultural identity.  Write an essay in which you compare and contrast the authors’ descriptions of their racial/cultural experiences. Support your essay with examples/quotes from the text.

Follow the standard essay structure with an introduction and thesis, followed by body paragraphs, each with a clear main point, and ending with a conclusion that goes beyond just a summary of your main points. Create a clear and logical organization following the point-by-point organization.  Follow MLA guidelines for in-text citations.

This should be a formal, academic essay, so it should not include personal pronouns (I, you, we), informal language or personal examples. 

It goes without saying that your essay should be typed and in standard essay format.
