Module #3 provides explains how communication can construct social reality and how we can contest certain social realities by questioning the meaning that individuals or society gives to messages.

2. Another example of creating or contesting social realities through words is military blogging. Read the article Web Savvy Soldiers Transform War Diaries  Have you ever visited any military blogger sites? What is the value of soldier's military blogs? The article mentions some security concerns. Do you think soldiers should be allowed to blog? Would you place any restrictions on soldiers' blogging activities?

3. Read the section on Polarization in the Human Communication textbook page 113. Provide a couple of examples of current issues in society that tend to be polarizing. Why do you think this occurs?
