I appreciate your post and agree with you regarding the transitioning process need education with the care giver.  I also believe that the education should include Mrs Jones.  The shame free environment you mentioned should include all the family members since all are affected in the transition.  Mrs Jones is truly going through a huge transition being unable to live independently, and also having to adjust to family support.  Education can help the family as an whole to function in a healthier state with resources for each level of development involved.
