Nice Post. I agree that education of the disease needs to be done first. The cancer patient needs to understand their diagnoses, understand medical terminology, and understand treatment options. But I believe they need to then gather information regarding the cost of cancer care. They need to “identify the medical and non-medical costs of cancer care, talk about managing or lowering these costs with members of the health care team and find tools, information and resources that will help to better plan costs before, during, and after cancer treatment” (Cancer.net, 2017). Knowing all of this information related to the costs is the only way the patient will be able to proceed with setting-up the recommended treatment. After this is done, I believe connecting with support groups will be essential for  support, information and motivation.
