Choose a local, well-known, small organization, such as a "Mom and Pop" type of organization. This could be a local doughnut shop, ice cream shop, or gift shop run by someone in your neighborhood. Then, choose a large, corporate type organization in the same industry. 

Examples might be Paul's Restaurant on Gordon street versus a local McDonald’s. Or it could be Sam and Jenny's Guest House versus a Marriott, or Santa's Village Ice Rink versus  Disneyland, and so on.

In a 1-2 page paper, compare and contrast the organizational structure of these two organizations - the one small and simple, the other large and complex. (Be sure to refer to material in your assigned reading.) In your paper, please provide a rationale for why each type of organization uses its particular structure and why the structure of the other organization would not work.
