Write 2-3 pages (aim for around 800 words), typed, double-spaced, font size should not exceed 12 points and margins should be no more than one inch on each side. Must use Chicago style citation.

Prompt:
Zhuangzi uses the image of a woodworker carving a bellstand (in “Mastering Life”) in order to describe the skilled person at one with the Dao.  Xunzi refers to the image of a potter molding clay (in “Man’s Nature is Evil”) to describe how the sages created the li (rites).  In either case, they are describing someone who lives in the world of distinctions but yet still follows the natural patterns of the cosmos. What are two similarities and three differences between the two (or three similarities and two differences between the two)? Use two or three paragraphs at the end of your paper to discuss whether their views are ultimately compatible or not.

Thanks!
