China’s economy
China’s economy
In the last thirty years, China’s economy has changed significantly. Phrases such as “one country two systems” and “a cat of any color is still a cat” have been used to describe the operations and development there. Chinese products can be found not only in Asia but all over the world. Chinese investments are not limited to the region but are reaching places from Africa to the U.S. to outer space.
Read about these changes using current academic literature and business newspapers (such as the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal, Business Week, and the Economist), the Argosy University online library resources, and your textbook and provided articles from this course. Then, address the following:
- Is China a capitalistic economy or a socialistic one? Explain characteristics of each economic system and present arguments for your selection. Note what characteristics you see in the Chinese economy and how they support or challenge future economic growth.
- Do you consider China to be an emerging economy, or do you believe it should already be considered developed, and why?
- Justify your arguments with citations from your research.
- In discourse with your peers, provide insight and alternate perspectives.
Give reasons in support of your responses. Be sure to cite any relevant resources.
Write your initial response in 500 words. Your response should be thorough and address all components of the discussion question in detail. Include citations of all sources, where needed, according to APA style; and demonstrate accurate spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
By Saturday, May 7, 2016, post your response to the appropriate Discussion Area. Through Wednesday, May 11, 2016, review and comment on at least two peers’ responses.
