Due Thursday, February 19 - Current Event: connect course material to the “real world.”  In preparation for this assignment you will bring to class two current “news clippings” (printed between feb 13-17) on 2 topics you believe are related to the course readings; one current event will be from a mainstream media source (e.g., Los Angeles Times, Washington Post), and the second from an alternative media source. The Alternative Media Sources listing on page 7 will help you locate news on current events.  Write a 2 to 3 paragraph description of the 2 current events along with the sources of your news.
