Changing Paradigms
Content Review: Changing Paradigms
Instructional designers are entering a world forever changed by a tsunami of technology. This week's articles address the promises of and passions for an "open world" in the knowledge economy. However, the complex knowledge of science and education complicates this image of openness with the realities of expense and subsequent regulation. As the open world embraces global rights to be a creator, develop one's knowledge, and share knowledge with others, instructional designers stand across the doorway of technology rights management to protect entities investing massive amounts of time and resources to develop complex knowledge from those who would take it for free.
In 3–4 paragraphs, summarize key points from this week's articles and media, along with your own thoughts about these future trends and the role instructional designers will play in the future.
