Family Involvement is essential when strengthening developmentally appropriate programs. There are numerous ways to involve families and encourage them to help set this strong foundation.

• Your school or center asked you to be a liaison between parents, teachers, and staff.
  1. Create a family involvement plan by choosing one or two strategies from at least three categories listed in this chapter. Share reasons for your choices.
  2. Include how you can meet the needs of diverse families or those that have recently moved to the area.
• Look up the NAEYC standards. Identify the standards that relate to family engagement and include them in your plan.
