Casey Martin (born June 2, 1972) is an American professional golfer and the current men's golf head coach at the University of Oregon. He suffers from a birth defect in his right leg known as Klippel Trenaunay Weber syndrome (KTWS). KTWS is a medical condition in which blood vessels fail to form properly. He has a bad leg, which makes him hard to walk the golf course during the game. Also, walking the course carries the risk of injury for him. So, He asked PGA, professional goal Association for permission to use a golf cart in the PGA tournament. However, PGA denied his request, with the reason: “that would give you an unfair advantage.” So, Casey Martin sued the PGA and his case went all the way to the Supreme Court.
