Go to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website at www.cdc.gov and search for the National Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR).
- Look for the U.S. Cancer Statistics
- Explore the different statistics that you can pull up from the national cancer registry
Go to the National Cancer Registrars Association website at www.ncra-usa.org. Explore the information available.
Using the information you found, answer the following questions.
- What were the top 10 types of cancer Minnesota in 2005? List Minnesota then list the cancer types.
- What is one other type of report you can view in the NPCR?
- What is the stated purpose of the NCRA?
- How does one become educated as a cancer registrar?
