Can someone please help me with my criminal justice homework?

Many sex offenders are required to register as a sex offender for life even after they have spent their required time in prison.  From a due process perspective, describe what civil/due process/constitutional rights are violated.  From a crime control perspective, explain why we even have sex offender registries to begin with.
