Can some one answer this discussion question
Often the medieval period is seen in a rather romantic like--knights, lords, ladies, jousting, and so forth--but feudalism had an ugly side and religion became very rigorous and extreme. What are some modern equivalents? In other words, what parts of our world are beautiful and enjoyable while others are harsh and ugly?
