A bonus to the enterprising individuals who calculate how many metric tons of rice are assigned to the entire chess board - all 64 squares. The cleverer the work, the higher the bonus.
Task 2: Suppose y = 0.15 (that is y represents 15% of the population at some time). Calculate Δy/y. Using Equation (1)5. Then calculate Δy/y when y = 0.9. What do you observe?
Task 3: Use Equation (3) to derive Equation (4), using the techniques of Sections 3 and 4 of Chapter 4. (Hint: First, condense the left side of Equation (3) to a single logarithm, and then get y by itself.
