Business Writing Assignment

This assignment calls for TWO documents, a memo and a letter.  For the memo, you are a representative of the USA Olympic Committee and your task is to select a company that would make a perfect sponsor for the Olympic Games.  A typical commitment is $75 million, so clearly you need to find a big corporation to commit to such a large amount.   Sponsorship can be either in the form of goods or services.   When you have targeted a suitable corporation, then you will write a memo to Mr. Larry Probst, the Chair of the USA Olympic Committee, explaining exactly why you have selected this company, and exactly (in detail) what will be required of them.

Then, write a letter for the signature of Larry Probst addressed to the CEO of the targeted company, explaining why the company has been selected, and again, what exactly will be required from them. Here you will need to be very PERSUASIVE as you convince him or her that being offered Olympic Sponsorship is such a wonderful privilege/honor/rare opportunity.

Questions to ask yourself:

Will it be for summer or winter Olympics?

Goods or services?

Just for one country's team, or for the entire Olympics Games enterprise?

Due April 22nd. 

One to One-half page (double space) each document should be fine.
