3. Subtle each section in bold type--Introduction, Law, Rationale, Social Impact and Personal Opinion.
4. Properly cite the law, cases and if necessary the journal articles.
5. You may use either a California Law or Federal Code.
6. Write the California or Federal Code as the code appears in the Federal Code or California Code.
7. Remember the code ends at "history". If you add additional sections, you will be penalized.
8. Some codes are very long, select a specific section of the code.
9. Remember, you are to choose two cases.
10. The cases must relate to the code section you have chosen.
11. Must apply FILAC in briefing the case.
12. Make sure to use the code in the "law" section of FILAC.
13. Make sure to properly cite the cases.
14. The cases must be post 1980. Cases before 1980 will hurt your grade.
15. If the law is new, cases may be unavailable. In that instance, select2 law review journals. Properly cite the journal.
16. The "social impact" and "personal opinion" should be one-half page each in length. Short "social impact" and "personal opinion will hurt your grade.
