There are two (2) books (Buffalo Creek Disaster and To Kill a Mocking Bird) that you may pick from for an extra credit project if you like.  You may only do one book.  The project is worth 50 total possible points.  You will need to read the book and answer the questions below.  You will be graded on your insight and interpretation of the story.  Answering the questions below is essential.

 

 

  • Give a brief (2-3 pages) review of the story line or plot of the novel.
  • Identify the legal concepts in the novel and discuss the connection between the legal concepts you are learning about in your textbook/class and we are discussing in class, give as many examples as you can.
  • What was the most surprising thing and/or strategy the lawyer(s) did in the story?  
  • What was the least ethical thing and/or strategy the lawyer(s) did in the story?  
  • Step into the shoes of one of the character lawyers and tell me how you would have represented your client differently?
