Normalization is usually just defined as the simplification of complex data structures into easy to understand Diagrams; Key Items are just organized in simplistic 1st, 2nd, and 3rd order.

In Considering issues to discuss:

1. In considering the designing of databases and information systems, what is meant by normalization and denormalization, and how do these items enter into the configuration of the Diagram???

2. What is meant by the term "Indexing"???  How can indexing help in preparing such diagrams???

  1. I think there is one major factor overlooked in transition, which is the element of risk. Too many companies see ways to cut costs and proceed forward, however, what's lost is invaluable years of experience, diversity, and efficiency within their operations. Should companies develop a risk assessment to address which aspects can be compromised and which ones they should retain or protect to prevent a major impact to future operations?

2. Now let's suppose that you have chosen to outsource a major division of your company (one that employs 20% of your workforce). The employees will be transitioned to the vendor, transferred to a different division within the firm, or terminated. What do you think are three critical considerations that you must include in the implementation plan for this outsourcing transition? Describe why you would include each of the considerations that you identify.
