Monitoring competitors' performance is an important part of an external audit. This exercise gives you practice in evaluating the competition and summarizing the information in a competitive profile matrix. Talk to someone in your organization who is familiar with the competition. Determine two competitors and review their Web sites. Prepare a competitive profile matrix that includes the focus organization and two competitors. Use tables 3-10, 3-11, and 3-12 as examples of what to include.
