Q. 1. The Consumer Product Safety Commission controls consumer recalls. An example of a recent recall (11/20/14) is the recalling by Graco of strollers due to fingertip amputation hazard. The folding hinges on the sides of the stroller can pinch a child’s finger, posing a laceration or amputation hazard.  Go to http://www.cpsc.gov/en/Recalls/2015/Graco-Recalls-11-Models-of-Strollers.

a. Comment on the responsibility of the manufacturer of these strollers and the responsibilities of parents who purchased them.

b.  Using the search box on this page (csps.gov) give us a short report (several sentences) of a product that is currently on recall status.

Q.2. It is said that the marketing of “e” cigarettes is way ahead of the science. That is, what is the health effect of these cigarettes? The FDA has recently expanded their rulemaking powers to include jurisdiction over "e" cigarettes and is proposing new regulations.  The proposed regulation is open for comment at fda.gov. Watch this video and then answer the following two questions.
