Individual Assignment:    Accounting Entries in Journal, T Accounts, & Preparation of a Trial Balance

This assignment will take you considerable time to complete so start early.  Read Chapter 4 carefully and ask your instructor many questions if you are having difficulty.

Complete Exercises 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3 in Ch. 4 of Financial Management for Human Service Administrators.   

Note that the beginning balances for your t accounts are shown in Table 4.10 on the next page.  Please put these beginning balances into your t accounts before you post your journal entries. 

      Financial Management for Human Service Administrators shows you in Tables 4.1, 4.2, 4.3

      and 4.4 how to do the assigned exercises.  

      If you do not get the entries correct in your journal, your postings in your t accounts

      and your subsequent trial balance will not be correct, so make sure you are confident

      of those journal entries before you move on.

      Do not worry about closing out the revenue and expense accounts prior to completing

      your trial balance.  Just bring the net assets amount from the previous 6 month

      accounting period forward into your trial balance.

      Submit a separate Certificate of Originality document
