Bias in Testing and Emotional Intelligence
This week, come to Seminar prepared to discuss why some professionals think that IQ testing measures intelligence. Discuss the issue of gender and cultural bias in intelligence testing. What are your thoughts on this subject? Is there sufficient evidence to support the claim that intelligence tests are biased? How might stereotype threat play a role in the issue of bias in testing?
Conclude with an example of how emotional intelligence (or the lack of it) influences your everyday life, and the lives of other people you know. Do you think that EIQ is a good way to measure someone’s intelligence? Why or why not?
