Instructional Objectives for this activity:
Differentiate results and concept of detention.

Court processes in the juvenile system vary according to jurisdiction. Siegel and Welsh (2012) ask, "Should youths be transferred to adult courts?" (p.551). This week's teamwork requires collaboration with peers and an individual response from each student. To prepare for this week's individual work, please complete the following:

1. Research your local jACKSONVILLE,  FL ...court procedures for juveniles..
2. After discussing the issue, develop your own plan on how you feel juveniles should be treated in the process.
   • What things would you change to make it a more effective system?
   • Your answers should include what changes you feel would make the system better for a juvenile when he or she needs to appear in court.
   • Please remember to cite your sources with APA, with in-text citations, and at the end a separate reference list page with summarized material from the textbook, lecture/slideshow and the web.
