1. Privacy is a major topic of concern as GIS and GPS capability becomes the norm across the globe. Even in terms of those 'street view' maps and views. Should faces be blurred? Would you want your image on the net wherever you go? What are the limits to GPS use?

GIS Lounge has an archive of excellent articles related to privacy concerns and GIS athttp://gislounge.com/category/privacy-issues/

2. GIS originally was devised to assist scientific research and analysis, such as would be used to forecast earthquakes. However that technology is now used to monitor when you enter the local Bed Bath and Beyond, enabling them the ability to send current coupons to your cell phone.  The GIS system can be used to collect data on people entering a certain store that can then be used by that store to analyze demographic regions of their customers. This can aid in target market advertising. The GPS, on the other hand, would simply identify the location you are specifically at.

According to "Difference between.net", the difference between a GPS and a GIS can be summed up:

1. The GPS (Global Position System) is a network that locates certain places here on earth whereas the GIS (Geographic Information System) is a computer program that process data linked to certain places or locations.

2. The GIS is a more generic framework compared to the specific GPS network.

3. During the 1990s and well into the first decade of this millennium, globalization was a strong movement in business. Now, however, as countries around the world face a lagging economy, the trend is turning toward nationalism and anti-global business strategies. A 2015 article in Forbes.comGlobalization's Biggest Threat -- Slow World Economic Growth by Panos Mourdoukoutas speaks to how this nationalistic, anti-global sentiment is bad for the European and Asian markets. How does this impact business in the United States?
