            Assignment #7: Brazil’ inflows of foreign direct investments

Question:

Identify ONE industry that attracts foreign direct investments (FDIs) into your country (explain your answer with specifics). Then discuss the benefits and costs of those FDIs for your country.

To help you write a good answer, I suggest that you have four paragraphs as follows:

- First paragraph: In one sentence, identify the industry (e.g.: The automobile industry attracts foreign direct investments into the United States). In another sentence, identify a few foreign MNEs that are doing business in that industry (e.g.: MNEs such as BMW, Daimler, Honda, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Toyota, and Volkswagen make automobiles in the United States)

- Second paragraph: In three to five sentences, explain why these foreign MNEs find your country to be an attractive location for their operations

- Third paragraph: In three to five sentences, discuss the benefits (at least two) your country gets from those investments

- Fourth paragraph: In three to five sentences, discuss the costs (at least two) of those investments for your country.
