Assignment - Elements of Drama

Reflect on how the experience of reading a play is different than the experience of reading fiction.

• Explain, in a 1-2 page Word document, some of the ways in which fiction and drama are alike and different.
• Select one play and one novel or short story to use as the basis for your assignment.
• Within your assignment, include your thoughts as to why you think the author chose this particular genre for the story s/he wanted to tell?
• Be sure to include elements from each work (fiction and drama) that distinguish one from the other.
