Summary

A few peers and I have been working on a business plan for a non-profit organization in America: The Society of Arab Engineers in America (SAEA). We are in the process of filing our corporate documents, then we hope to file for a tax exemption and deductible in the state of Pennsylvania. Our primary funder is Aramco Services Company based in Houston Texas. Aramco is a major oil company based in the Middle East. I would like to take this assignment as an opportunity to finalize a real proposal that I would eventually send to Aramco Services seeking funding for our organization.

Discussion

Aramco is a company that has been sponsoring Arab students to come study in the U.S. Therefore, we recognize the motivation to help Arab students and professionals in the U.S. Moreover, Aramco is a one of the biggest company in the world, currently 5% of its shares are going to be launched for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) and that will generate $3 billion in capital. Considering that Aramco Services is a U.S. based company operating billions of dollars, we see an opportunity to seek funding from them as a non-profit organization in return for a tax deductible filing procedure.

Instead of Aramco paying taxes to the U.S. government only, it can partition some of its payments to funding an organization that empowers Arabs in the America. Aramco has proven its willingness to donate to clubs and organization by agreeing to read a proposal from the Saudi Student Association at Penn State for a potential $250,000 donation. Thorough research for SAEA has been done and the upcoming proposal will detail the purpose of SAEA and why Aramco should fund the organization.

The proposal will require a lot of attention and detail regarding all aspects of the organization from structure to every event. Aramco expects a very accurate and executable plan that benefits Arabs in America. I plan to use all the resources I can reach to fully write this proposal explaining the mission, vision and plans of SAEA and how Aramco’s funding is a good step forward for both organizations and more importantly Arab Engineers and Professional.

Recommendation

I have thoroughly researched the presence of similar organization that are already present and function. Part of the proposal should focus on how SAEA differentiates itself from other organization and why Aramco should fund us. It is a very big step forward that I will be taking very seriously considering the underlying fact that I am a founder of the Society of Arab Engineers in America.
