Write a 3-4 page paper (not including cover page and reference page) that addresses your views on the following:

Economic Loss:  Identify a major employer in or near your community and assume that it is about to close in six (6) months.  Assess the impact of this economic loss in terms of the following questions:

1.  What will be the economic and social impact, e.g. lost tax revenue and increased demand on human services (welfare, unemployment compensation,mental and physical health care services, etc.)?  Try to get some specific estimates of dollar costs.

2.  Design some organizing strategies on how to deal with this economic loss.
