Assignment #3

Each assignment should be a one- to two-page (double spaced, 12 point font, one inch margins) written analysis of an article about "INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND PAYMENT"  The first line of the assignment should have the student’s TCU ID #.  The second line should be Assignment #.  The first half of the paper should be a summary of the article beginning with the heading Summary on a single line.  The second part of the paper should explain what this material means and why it might be of interest for business or public policy decision making.  This part of the assignment should begin with the heading Analysis on a single line. THE SOURCES MUST BE STRICTLY AND ONLY FROM "New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, or The Economist". THE ARTICLE MUST BE CURRENT A copy of the article should be stapled behind the assignment.

First, the assignments should be written in the exact format described above.  A 1 point deduction will be assessed for deviations from the prescribed format.  Any material over two pages will not be read.  Second, the assignments will be graded first on the quality of the summary of the article.  The analysis part of the assignment will be initially graded on the quality of the reasoning exhibited.  As the semester progresses, the analysis will be more heavily graded on the integration of course material learned into the analysis.  Written assignments will be graded on a zero to 10 scale in the same way as the grading of essays described above.
