Assignment 2 requirements
Hi Team
As you may have noticed the assessmnet 1 (literature review) results are posted . Below is some general feedback:
- Most students submitted their work in essay formats.
- So many students gave very little in-text references, some not at all. The ones which did provide intext references, mostly provided one per paragraph: this is NOT a comparative analysis. You must compare literature, not just state it. Most students gave articles with long sections without intext references.
- Some students gave me headings as per the assessment criteria, e.g. a section called "comparative analysis" and "quality and currency of literature". This is incorrect. The whole literature review is a comparative analysis which contains quality and current references.
- Some students referenced wikipedia. This is not an academic source of reference.
- Lack of academic articles, some students only gave industry references.
- There were regular errors in intext referencing formats. For example, full stops before and after references which renders confusion as to which sentence the reference pertains to.
- Some students gave direct quotes without appropriate pages numbers in the references, e.g. ("Smith 2010, p.6"). Some students gave page numbers without direct quotes.
- Most students made many spelling, grammar and syntax errors. PLEASE DO ERROR CHECKS BEFORE SUBMISSIONS.
- There are many cases of inconsistent referencing formats.
- Some students provided no bibliography.
- Too much emotive , e.g. "strongly", "huge" etc. .... avoid emotive language, let the reader judge.
- Too much use of personal pronouns such as "I", "we", "you" .....
- Long paragraphs need to be broken down.
- Lack of charts, table and diagrams.
- Inconsistent formats including fonts and spacing.
- Some students plagiarised heavily. One student even submitted my personal work.
- Some students submitted work which doesn't even stack up to an essay - UNACADEMIC all together.
- Some work was well below the 2 000 - 2 500 words.
This feedback is not meant to be difficult but realistic. See me if you have any further questions.
Your ever faithful Lecturer
Inadequate bibliographic citations - you could not find any academic references?
Very little intext citations - long stretches without.
No clear gaps identified for further investigation.
