Demonstrate knowledge & perform within scope of practice, by recognizing limitations, and assume responsibility to get appropriate help/guidance in a timely manner.Observe nurses giving bedside shift report. Safely perform nursing skills with appropriate supervision of instructor and/or hospital staff (may include all skills practiced in lab).  Participate in doing hourly patient safety checks. Interprofessional  Communication:  Discuss & comment on at least one shift report that you observed. How does  this compare with what you learned in class about interprofessional  communication and SBAR? What could have been done differently? How could report  have been improved? Was the SBAR format apparent? Was it difficult for you to  take report? Why or why not?  Safety: Describe your  observations about safety in the hospital setting. Were the staff aware of  safety concerns? What measures were taken to improve safety in the patient’s  environment? Was fall risk a concern for any of the patients? How was their  fall risk determined? How was mobility addressed? Were patients encouraged to  be mobile? What safety measures were implemented? Were any patients in  restraints? What procedures were followed? Did you witness any medications  being given? What safety measure did you witness in terms of medication  administration? Future practice: Compare yourself  to a practicing nurse you encountered during this experience. Where do you need  the most growth and development? What are your strongest points? What did you  experience/learn at the hospital that you will impact your future practice as a  nurse? How?
