Have you ever been mentored by someone who influenced the way you think today? Have you served as a mentor to other students?

 

In this assignment, you will discuss mentoring and teaching in a higher education institution.

 

Tasks:

Respond to the following:

 

    Using University online library resources or the Internet, research two models, principles, or approaches related to effective mentoring and teaching. Use a minimum of two peer-reviewed journals to conduct your research.

 

    Examples of mentoring approaches that you could use for this discussion are as follows: Whitmore's goal, reality, obstacles or options, and way forward (GROW) model; the skilled helper model; the inner game; nondirective coaching; coactive coaching; solution-focused coaching; and team coaching. Select an approach from what is provided or research your own.

 

    Be sure the focus of this research is on transformative change in higher education.

    Discuss the selected models in your response. On the basis of your reading, provide five to seven additional insights into mentoring in a higher education setting.
